Full Transcript: Hi, I am Doctor Ana Brightleaf my practice is cosmetic and holistic dentistry we do but on a lot of work that patients who have TMJ problems, migraines, headaches, ringing in the ears and one of services that we are able to offer our patients is a physical therapy program. This is one of my assistants, Yvette who is trained in this program. We're gonna demonstrate some of the therapies we use. We begin with the ultrasound and the ultrasound unit helps muscles to have more blood flow and begin the relaxation process. The next thing that we do is a 15-minute head and neck massage to warm up the tissue and get the muscles to relax we work on the trigger points which are areas in the muscles that are very tense to get those to relax. The next thing we used is an alpha-stim unit which is a microcurrent unit. The therapist knows exactly where these trigger points are. And she works with the patient with the alpha-stim to get them to relax and actually at the cell level there are changes the muscle makes. it begins to rehabilitate and changes its focus.
